Julia Koci was born in Vienna, Austria and graduated from Mannes College of Music in New York City. Given her extensive backround in dance, acting and vocal performance she is a versatile performer who s repertoire encompasses early music to modern and also musical theatre.
The soprano has sung in prestigious halls such as the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Stockholm Concerthall, the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, and the Budapest Concerthall.
In Austria she has worked at the Wiener Volksoper, the Burgtheater, Theater in der Josefstadt, Baden Stadttheater, Neue Oper Wien, Opernfestpiele St. Margarethen, Wiener Operettensommer and the Carinthischer Sommer.  Internationally she has performed roles in major theatres in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht, Leuven, Antwerpen, Gent, Rostock, Krakow, Tokyo, Doha and the USA. Roles include Pamina, Erste Dame /Die Zauberflöte , Susanna/Le nozze di Figaro, Gilda/Rigoletto, Violetta /La Traviata. Nannetta/Falstaff, Marzelline/Fidelio, Lauretta/ Gianni Schicchi,  Fiordildgi/Cosi fan tutte, Najade/Adriane auf Naxos, Lucietta/Il Campiello, Adele/Die Fledermaus, Annina/Nacht in Venedig, Gabriele/La vie Parisienne, Valencienne/Lustige Witwe, Franziska Cagliari/Wiener Blut.
Julia Koci is also an active oratorio and sacred music soloist and performs in churches in and around Vienna such as the Stephansdom, Franziskanerkirche, Michaelerkirche and the Schubertkirche a.o.
On cd she can be heard with the Junge Philharmonie Wien singing Mozart Arias on the album "Auf ewig dein Mozart" and in the role of Pamina on the best sold childrens opera dvd "Die Zauberflöte für Kinder".
